Ingredients
- 1 Tin condensed milk (385 gram)
- 3 Tins of full cream milk measured in the empty condensed milk can
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tablespoon custard powder (15ml)
- 1 Tea Spoon vanilla essence (5ml)
- 2 Tablespoons Maizena (corn flour) (30ml)
- 1 tin of milk (using that empty condensed milk tin to measure)
Method
Base
- Crumbed biscuits with enough butter to moisten the crumbs. Press into the base of an oven dish.
Filling
- Add condensed milk as 2 tins of milk to a heavy based saucepan and bring to the boil slowly and remove from the heat
- Mix the other ingredients and the 3rd tin of milk making sure you don’t have any lumps.
- Add the mixture to the boiled milk and put back on a slow heat
- Keep stirring with a whisk and at the first sign of boiling, remove from the heat and pour your crumbed oven dish.
- Dust with cinnamon while still warm
- Cool down and enjoy
Tip: Take your time with this recipe and heat and boil everything slowly. The slower it boils the better your result is going to be.
