Wakawaka

Wakawaka

Wakawaka is great if budget is running low or you don't want to cook a lot of dishes.

Ingredients

  •  ¼ Cabbage
  •  3  Carrots
  •  3 potatoes
  •  1 Cup Rice ( uncooked )
  •  ½ Cup soup mix
  •  1 Teaspoon mild yellow curry
  •  ½ Teaspoon leaf masala
  •  1 Teaspoon Garum masala
  •  ¼  Teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 3 Teaspoons BBQ spice
  •  2 Bayleafs
  • ½ Teaspoon Black pepper corns
  • ¼ Teaspoon Coriander seeds
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 40 g Tomato paste 
  • Pinch of Salt

Method

  •  Slice the Carrots and cut the potatoes in chunks and set aside.
  •  Fry the chopped onion, bayleafs, pepper corns, cloves and coriander together in a little oil.
  •  Fry until onions is see through but not brown.
  •  Add the spices and fry until the spices start to change color.
  • Add the carrots and potatoes.
  •  Add the raw rice and soup mix and 4 cups of water.
  •  Add the sliced cabbage and Tomato paste  cover the pot.
  • Simmer until rice and potatoes is soft about 30 min.
  •  Try to stir as little as possible.
  • Don't cook to dry. Serve hot.
