Mejadra

Rice and lentils with a toch of cumin and fried onion

Ingredients

  •  1 cup rice
  •  ½ Cup brown lentils
  • 1 Onion
  •  ½ Teaspoon cumin
  • Pinch of Salt

Method

  •  Slice the onion and fry until brown.
  •  Add the cumin and remove from heat.
  •  In the meanwhile cook  the rice according to Directions on packet.
  •  Cook the brown lentils until soft.
  • Mix cooked rice, cooked lentils, and fried onion together.
  •  Mix with a large fork to prevent making it from mushing.
  •  Serve hot as a variation of rice
